The quality depends on whichever DAC is better, of course. If you connect a USB cable from your pc to the Kanto's, then that means you'll be using the DAC inside the Kanto's (which is marketed as 16-bit, 48khz). If you use the speaker's 3.5 mm jack, then that means some other DAC (from your PC or media player, etc) is doing the digital to analog conversion and is simply sending the analog signal to the Kanto's via the 3.5mm jack.By angling towards your ears, it helps to maintain the same sound character, even if you move slightly up/down. They could have +-10 to 20 deg vertical directivity, so if you stand up, for example, then the sound character will change drastically.
